Coaching log for AS and JG
AS is looking to lose weight and develop strength, specifically increasing her Total score. JG is looking to significantly imporve his Army PFT score and get ready for Air Assault School in the summer. Running is his main weakness, with flexibility being a solid second.

Functional Fitness hits the wall
After the class and discussion today, I took my first trip to Brooklyn Boulders, next door to the (near) future home of CF South Brooklyn. The place was great and actually exceeded the hype. Huge climbing surfaces, large expanses of bouldering opportunities and lots of people climbing.
After a couple hours of climbing I learned two things:

Situation: Distance runner training for 2 half marathons and one Olympic Triathlon in 2010. The first race is in 6 weeks. During the initial session, Michele displayed limited mobility and flexibility and limited strength. Mental toughness appeared to be greater than others of comparable athletic exposure.
